Travis Kaatz, PE, CFM
Founder and Principal
Travis has spent his entire career in water resources analysis and design throughout the State of Texas. Travis received his BS in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and his MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Texas Tech University. Travis is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas and a Certified Floodplain Manager through the Texas Floodplain Management Agency.
Early in his career, Travis knew he wanted to work for public sector clients to serve and better the surrounding communities. He has experience working with City of Austin, City of Cedar Park, City of Round Rock, City of Liberty Hill, City of West Lake Hills, City of San Marcos, Hays County, Travis County, Williamson County, Texas Parks & Wildlife, GBRA, TxDOT and CTRMA.
Travis has considerable experience in detailed hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, hydraulic design, plans specifications & estimates, drainage impact analysis, complex hydraulic bridge analysis, erosion control design, stream restoration, detention and water quality pond design, dam emergency action plans, large watershed studies, FEMA floodplain mapping and modeling, and drainage master planning. Travis’ primary areas of expertise include complex steady and unsteady hydraulic modeling, and 2-dimensional hydraulic modeling. He has 2D hydraulic modeling experience in InfoWorks ICM, XPSWMM, and HEC-RAS 2D. Travis takes pride in being on the cutting EDGE of 2D hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and shares his expertise with other engineers throughout Central Texas.
Outside of work, Travis enjoys spending time with his wife Averi, their new baby girl Hazel, and their two dogs. Being outdoors, watching sports, home improvement projects, and wood working are some of Travis' favorite ways to pass time. Travis takes pride in making custom wood furniture for his family and friends.
Chad Cormack, PE, CFM
Founder and Principal
Chad has over 13 years of experience in the Civil Engineering industry. He received his BS in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and his MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Chad is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas and a Certified Floodplain Manager through the Texas Floodplain Management Agency.
Chad has been fortunate to work for multiple reputable engineering firms throughout his career. Through these experiences he has been provided excellent mentorship and training in both engineering and business practices. The investment from these past firms and mentors inspired him to co-create EDGE Engineering; where he believes the sky is truly the limit for success.
The majority of Chad’s experience is within water resources engineering analysis and design throughout Central Texas. He is a statewide leader in the application of 2D hydraulic modeling and has given multiple trainings, brownbags, and presentations on the topic. In addition, he has utilized various software platforms to complete a multitude of statewide projects including drainage master planning, flood mitigation analysis/design, TxDOT & municipal roadway/bridge design, FEMA floodplain modeling & mapping, City drainage reviews, and site design. Mr. Cormack’s balanced background of stormwater analysis and design allows him to provide creative and effective solutions to complex problems.
Chad and his wife, Randi have four children (Kennedi, Brody, Astrid, and Sedona). Spending time with his amazing family is his favorite activity. During his occasional moments of free time Chad enjoys homebrewing beer, making Kombucha, gardening, and helping Randi with her ambitious Backyard Chicken Business.
